Why isn't my Insignia 720p HD camcorder not working with videos on my Mac?

I just got it for Christmas yesterday. It is the dark blue one from Best Buy for $80 ( which i bought on Black Friday online ) Quick Time Player isn't letting me view and watch my videos... Is there something wrong? Do I have to do something first? Any tips? I NEED HELP!

You did not tell us what Mac you are using - or version OSX.
You did not tell us which version of QuickTime you are using.
Provide us with some useful information and we may be able to help.
In the meantime, perhaps converting the files to something QuickTime can deal with will help... MPEG Streamclip
