Lenses for canon xf100 camcorder?

Q. Are there any lenses for the canon xf100? I've heard about telephoto and wide angle converters, but how is that different than a lens?

Answer
The Canon XF100 is built like most camcorders that are similarly priced. It has a fixed lens - that is, the lens that comes with the camcorder is permanently mounted. When you take the lens hood off there are threads available to screw-mount lenses or, under certain conditions, you may be able to mount certain lenses using the same bayonet mount that the lens hood uses. There are also adapters available that allow use of some dSLR-mounting type lenses.

This is different from dSLRs and certain other camcorders (like the Sony VG10) where, if you remove the lens from the camera (or camcorder), the unit is essentially blind until an appropriate lens is mounted.

The tele and wide angle "converters" you've heard about merely attach to the front of the XF100 and "convert" the existing lens to whatever field of view the add-on lens is able to provide in conjunction with the "permanent" lens. In the case of cameras and camcorders that use interchangeable lenses, the entire lens assembly comes off the camera/camcorder and is replaced by a complete lens that provides the appropriate functionality.

A lens is a lens whether screw-mount/bayonet mount as an adapter to a camcorder's filter threads or bayonet mount or as a bayonet mount to a dSLR body.

Answer
Canon VIXIA HF-20 Dual 32GB Flash Drive Memory HD Camcorder w/15x Optical Zoom
It delivers brilliant video and photos through a Canon exclusive 3.89 Megapixel CMOS image sensor. It is ultra lightweight and light HD camcorder, and brings the ease and convenience of Flash Memory. This technology, the same used in advanced laptop computers, MP3 players, PDAs and cell phones, allows the VIXIA HF20 to record to both its large 32GB internal memory for over 12 hours of crisp, high definition video as well as to a removable SDHC card. You have extended available recording space and more flexibility in file transfer and playback. I find it is on sale at this site, you may check out.

Can this micro fit with my camcorder (CANON)?

Adamouizat

I own this camera and I would like to buy a microphone for better sound.

Could tell me if a microphone like:

_This one: http://www.amazon.fr/Microphone-stéréo-compatible-caméscopes-Samsung/dp/B004UN9I2O/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1370190049&sr=8-4&keywords=micro+camera

_Or this one: http://www.amazon.fr/Microphone-stéréo-SG-108-appareil-numérique/dp/B008H3Y9LS/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1370259233&sr=1-3&keywords=microphone+camera

Go with this camera: http://www.globalmediapro.com/dp/A01ZK4/Canon-HV20-HD-Camcorder/

Please help me!

Answer
Hi Adam, and welcome to Yahoo!Answers:

The short answer is "yes", either mike will work with your Canon HV-20 (or your GoPro, for that matter).

The key feature is the 3.5mm plug that both the mikes & your camcorder uses for external mike input. If you ever shopped around for a more-professional (and more expensive) mike with an XLR connector, you can buy or make an XLR-to-3.5mm adapter cable.

The only caution would be to avoid non-battery condenser mikes that require "phantom power" in order to work. Neither of your cameras supplies phantom power internally. (You'd have to buy an external phantom power supply "box" -- like a Crown PH-1A -- to connect between that type of mike & your camcorder.) The trick to phantom powered mikes is to make sure the phantom supply provides enough voltage for a particular microphone model (some condenser mikes need up to +48V phantom voltage for proper operation).

hope this helps,
--Dennis C.

So I was doing this school project with a camcorder (canon fs300) and I plugged the usb in (usually it works for pictures) and usually it pops up as CANON FS300 but this time it only said Removable Disk F and it only works for pictures.
I need to put the videos on to burn for a CD for class! HELP :(

Answer
Dont use any progs apart from explorer, open the drive and look for the videos, not sure what format they are going to be in (with out searching) maybe you are trying to use WMM or something that does not support the video format.

try the camera in another USB port you could even turn off your computer and restart it see if that helps/

It happens every-time I import the images. The color is light compared to what I see in the camcorder.
How can I fix the problem anyway?

Answer
The pics in your camcorder are the true pics. Try looking at them on your TV for their full effect. RGB
