Good Camcorder External Mic?

Niji

I have a great camcorder and I want to use it, but looking at other's videos at the beach and so on it's clear that wind is a big problem. I want to get a good stereo external mic, but it must have a good windscreen or effective dead cat/kitten. I hope you use a steadycam also so it really needs to
be attached to the camera.
Can anyone recommend a good camcorder mic that doesn't protrude too much and not cost an arm and a leg?

Answer
Rode make a good stereo mic. http://www.rodemic.com/mics/videomicpro
I do not know if your camcorder has mic input as you did not say type of camcorder!

hd camcorder with mic input?

any good hd camcorders with mic input around 300-400 bucks

Answer
I am not an expert. But I am currently in the market for an HD video recording solution (I say that cos i'm leaning towards DSLRs that do video - my budget is £600) and I don't think anything for that budget comes with a mic input. Additionally apparently even the (DSLR) ones that do, suffer from bad quality audio because you can't override the automatic boost (the AGC).

I have begun to consider simply buying an external audio recorder to do audio, as I think I can get more for my money on the visual side that way with cameras that don't have mic-in.

Hope you find one.

I have a JVC GZ-MG330 camcorder, its a very nice camcorder but the down side is it has no external mic input, and i was wondering if there is an adapter or something that could make accept an external mic.
Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.

Answer
Nope....but your best bet is to use a separate recorder anyway. Consumer-grade camcorders don't record audio that well. Even if you could use an external mic, you would want a good quality one. I use a Zoom H4n recorder with a Sure mic and then mate the audio with my video in post. Much better.

I need some sort of external microphone for my camcorder?

mr grumpy

I have an Insignia 10MP Full HD camcorder that i just got and after filming for a bit and editing, i realised that it has a terrible microphone. Also in the footage, you can hear the machinery inside. So obviously i need some sort of external microphone. unfortunently, it doesn't have an external mic input jack.
Any ideas as to what i could do or possibly products i could buy as a separate microphone? help!

Answer
I actually searched the same question yesterday. while trying to find the answer I found a way to get a Flip video camera for free from www.eminoflipinsider.tk! my camera is scheduled to ship any days now and I love it!

Good luck
