HD Camcorders and DSLR Cameras interpolate the video, which means of every 25 frames of video, 4 or 5 frames are taken by the lens assembly; the other frames in between these are filled in by the camcorder inner circuitry, thus giving you not true video. It looks like this -one frame from the lens assembly, 7or 8 from the electronic circuitry, one frame from the lens assembly, 7or 8 from the electronic circuitry, one frame from the lens assembly, 7or 8 from the electronic circuitry, one frame from the lens assembly, 7or 8 from the electronic circuitry, from front to back of the video. Near impossible to edit, even when you have the Multi port processor computer with the big 1GB Graphics card and a Sound card that is required to edit, view, watch and work with the files these camcorders produce.

DSLR Cameras, all Makes, all Models, all have the same problem when video taping some long videos, all overheat at the 13 to 18 minute mark, depending on the Make and Model. This is unavoidable, it all has to with the fact, video is an afterthought in DSLR camera production.

Consumer Level HD Camcorders and DSLR Cameras have 4 problems. 1) Blurry, fuzzy, out of focus areas closely around people in videos taken by consumer level HD camcorders. 2) Any movement, even a wave or lifting an arm, while in front of a recording Consumer Level HD Camcorder and DSLR Cameras, results in screen ghosts and artifacts being left on the video track, following the movement. Makes for bad video, sports videos are unwatchable. 3) These Consumer Level HD Camcorders and DSLR Cameras all have a habit of the transferred to computer files are something you need to convert, thus losing your HD quality, to work with your editing software. 4) Mandatory maximum record times - 1 hour, 30 minutes, 8 minutes, 3 minutes â four different times advertised as maximum record time for some Consumer Level HD Camcorders and DSLR Cameras. No event I have ever been to is that short. Either take multiple camcorders and DSLR Cameras or pack up with out getting the end of the event on video.

MiniDV is currently the most popular format for consumer digital camcorders. MiniDV camcorders are typically more affordable than their HDD and DVD counterparts. Each MiniDV tape will typically hold an hour of footage at normal recording speed and quality. MiniDV tapes are available for purchase at not only electronic and camera stores, but also at drugs stores and grocery stores, making them easy to find while your on vacation. There are literally hundreds of MiniDV camcorders available; both in standard and high-definition. And add the fact that to get a HD camcorder that could produce better video quality footage, one would have to spend in excess of $3500 for that camcorder that could produce higher quality video

I'm doing a project for my photo journalism class and I need to know what type of camera equipment the paparazzi use for it.

I'd like to film myself interviewing people so I need a camera that is hands free. I don't have a lot of money to spend so that must be taken into consideration as well.
What I mean by "don't have a lot of money to spend" - I really don't know the prices and I don't mind used equipment. Is $200 too little for something basic?

The phrase "don't have a lot of money to spend" is a relative term, and can cover a wide range of budgets, so you might be more specific as to what you wish to spend.

Since you're new on here, you should know that you can add more info to your Question by using the "Additional Details" link in the Action Bar menu (the Edit "pencil icon").

You might also re-think your interview approach, since "hands-free" and "film myself interviewing people" gives the impression you are more interested in putting yourself on camera, and not just the person you are talking to.

As far as hands-free camcorders, one of the best approaches would be a wearable camera (usually intended for sports videos) like the GoPro and Contour cameras. But they wouldn't necessarily put you into the picture, if that's what you're after.

Keep in mind that a lot of consumer camcorders come with a wireless remote, and have flippable LCD screens so you can check your shot & framing while standing on the lens-side. That will open up your shopping selection to less-rugged (and cheaper) models than the sports models. For that method, you can also buy an inexpensive tripod (since it doesn't need to move during the shot, a cheap one will do) to hold the camera for you during the interview.

And if you're just starting out, as I frequently suggest from personal experience, you can stretch your budget dollar by buying good used gear at a local camera store (or trusted online merchant), and even at local flea markets, thrift shops, and garage sales. Just be sure to "try before you buy".

How does the Bassmaster tournaments live coverage work?

I am currently trying to keep track of the Bassmaster Tournaments. I see that they are three days of fishing. like other sports, do they have LIVE coverage on TV. all i could find was cameras on the boats with no sound. or does it just come on Sunday morning with a recap of it all! i really want to know and what channel does it come on---ESPN2?? is if live coverage or just recap on sunday?

It has to be all tape delay.Unless there is such a thing as wireless transmission of massively huge video/audio files, which I doubt. I suppose the cameramen could radio the weight of each fish caught to keep the scoreboard up to date.

I would use this to browse the web...a lot! So there would need to be a great display on it as well as good moblie web performance. I would also need a good keyboard and program to edit text (word, ect.) documents. Another thing I would need is a good video/mp3 player. I have an iPod right now so it would have to have all the functionality of that. A camera is not really essential, but I could use it. It needs to be a phone, duh. I would also need good email and AIM use of it, as well as text messenging. It would have to run on Verizon Wireless, because its the best carrier in my area. I was looking at a Blackberry Pearl, or Blackberry World, which seemed nice...but I still need to look around more. I know this is a lot to ask, but I basically need the most portable version of a computer/phone as it gets.

Where can I get a decent HD Camcorder that can be connected to wireless lavs?

Me and my friend are planning to do some filming, mostly in public, we are looking for a decent HD camcorder that we can use, we are on a budget but we want the video to be in a decent quality, probably a mid-rage camcorder. We're looking for a decent 1080p quality and a decent wireless lavs connected to the camcorder.

Example of our ideal wireless lav is sennheiser ew 100 but it's pretty expensive. we're also looking for a cheap but decent wireless lav(should be compatible with the camcorder).
