My ZR Canon series camcorder, using a BP2L12 battery, can record 2 X 1 1/2 hour tapes. 3 hours in total. Anything above that and I use hydro, either from my portable device or a wall socket See what i use here - http://asimplelife.ca/power.html Use a MiniDV tape camcorder as they have the best quality video of all media storage types. And get a camera with a Mic Input jack, you will want better audio than the 5 foot good audio zone most camcorders have.
