Can you record good quality videos for youtube with a Cannon Powershot 14.1 MP Camera?

Samanthaa.

I'm planning on starting a youtube channel and to record, I have a Cannon camera that's for 14.1 MP. Can I record GOOD quality videos with it? I know, well I'm learning how to edit videos with movie maker and sony vegas. Here's a link to the camera.http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/canon-powershot-a2200-blue/4505-6501_7-34468797.html

Answer
If you want to use a combination still / video camera I would recommend a Canon dslr camera, perhaps the t3. This camera will have a larger sensor than a bridge camera, which you now have, and will therefore give you better results.

Learning to edit? Well that's a skill that take a while to master. I know because I did a career in broadcast television and one of my functions was to edit video for news and sports. Editing, that is good and proper editing, is a valued skill and should always be done with your viewer in mind.

Too many people edit for themselves and then wonder why viewers don't like what they've done - duh!
Two important things about shooting for public consumption: Shoot for the editor, edit for your viewer.

I'm retired now but still pretty active with video. Here's what I'm getting with my Canon dslr. I edit
with Video Pad by NCH software, far easier to use than Sony. And since Movie Maker won't do
mov format video your only choice is an outside editor. Good luck

Finding a camera?

I need help finding a digital camera that has good sound when taking videos. I go to a lot of concerts and the sound on the videos of the bands always sucks.

So does anyone know of a good camera with quality sound?

Answer
I own the canon sd750, and I love it compared to the previous cameras that I have owned. I bought it because of the high review rates for the price of $279. It has 7.1 megapixels and has a rechargable battery. One of the many great features is it takes 1 second to turn on, and your ready to take a picture, so you can almost instintly take a picture, once you know your subject. It also has great features like color accent mode (accents one color and the rest is black and white) or color switch mode.

You can also use a sd card and it can hold well over 1,000 pics with a 2 gig SD card. It can aso take well over 20min of video with the same card, the video quality is really good, 30 frames per second, and the sound quality is really good, but the problem is, if your going to a concert the camera will pick up every little sound, but thats how it is with most cameras. But this card can cost about $45. The camera itself is really small and thin, for all the features it has. You can download pics and video to your computer by using mini usb cable included with the camera. Overall I think this camera would be perfect for tourism, sport events, events, and protraits.
