best camcorder under 400 with hd image

I want it to be under $400.
I need to be able to connect it to my computer so that I can edit the content.
I also want my final product to be stored on a dvd.
Things like good picture quality and user friendly controls would be great.
Please give recommendations for the right camcorder for me.

Looking for the best camcorder under $400 hard disk drive?

Would prefer an HD but know that will be hard under $400. There are so many out there and every article you read has a different one to buy. Going to use it normally for sporting events and indoors.. Any advise from anyone that has expirence or knowledge would be great!
