kodak sport video camera image
Stephanie
I am going to start making youtube videos and wanted to know what was the best video camera to invest in. I keep seeing that everyone is suggesting the flip video cameras, is that really a good video camera? I want the camera to be under $500. Im looking for best quality video camera. Thank you!
Answer
I suggest the Kodak PlaySport Zx3.
The Kodak Play Sport Zx3 is easy to use, has a very good display, and takes very good video in normal light and good video in low light. It's waterproof to a depth of 10 feet and can shoot good 5-megapixel stills. However, it only has fair audio quality. Its on-board software makes basic editing and sharing videos online very easy to do.
Highs
A good HD pocket camcorder with very good video picture quality, display quality and ease of use; good low-light picture quality, image stabilizer, versatility and still camera. Moderately priced model.
Lows
Fair audio quality and battery life.

What kind of camera is best for horse-y footage and pictures?
meeeeeeeee
The camera I have now is and old Kodak and it doesn't take very good pictures or videos. Inside the barn isn't terribly dark, but it's not super bright and my camera makes everything look really dark anyway. If you zoom in while taking a video, it speeds up that part of the footage. What's a reasonably priced video camera[that also takes pictures? (:] that is good for what I need it for?
Thanks!
Answer
any of the canon rebels are good. more importantly it is the lens that creates the photo.
i would check into a lens with zoom and image stabilization.
i paid $150 for a 700 to 300 ml, 3.4 speed lens.
the slower the lens the crappier the phot and the less light it can use. 2.6 is great for racing shots, 3.4 is good for dressage and show jumping and anything slower then that is 4.8 is about as slow a lens as you will want. shoot with it on the sports setting to keep it simple.
check ebay and craigslist for deals.
