I really want to get them on here so I could put them on DVDs for my parents, and I'm not sure how to do it. It's an old video camera from maybe 1998 or 1999 with tapes going back to 1991

Answer
Yes, it is possible, as long as the camcorder is working for TV output. What you need is a USB video converter. Try an internet search for "mac video USB adapter". I have used a Pinnacle device with success.

What does RO mean on my camcorder video preview screen?

I have a Panasonic Palmcorder Mini DV - Model: PV-DV520. My parents just gave it to me because they got a new one. I was going through tapes with video recordings on them and as the video is playing, there's a little "RO: 42" in the upper left hand corner. I've been trying to figure out what it means. It randomly counts down until it reaches either 1 or 0 (when the video ends.) Can someone tell me what this means? Also, how do you know how much space you have left on a tape? Thank you(:

Answer
could it be a PV-GS250?... Assuming that, link to the manual:
http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/PVGS250.PDF
Page 28, right side.

I could not find a PV-DV520 or PV-GS520 at the Panasonic site... but the "R 0:XX" number to which you refer is the same across the different PV-series Panasonic Palmcorders.
