i like to take pictures of models and sometimes landscapes. i would like a high quality but i just dont know what a great camera would be. i would like something in about the $600 range?
would a Nikon DSLR D40x work? or it that a bad camera?

Near-professional grade level for the quality of the pictures is important. Also something for a reasonable price. Not picky about brands but if you have any camera shopping or picture taking advice then please tell me! Thank you all!
